Our Beliefs

OVERVIEW

I. The Bible is the written Word of God and because it's inspired throughout, all its assertions are historically and scientifically true. This means that the account of origins in Genesis Chapter One is a factual presentation of simple historical truths.

II. All basic types of living things, including man, were made by direct creative acts of God during the Creation Week which was seven, 24-hour days, as described in Genesis Chapter 1. Whatever biological changes have occurred since Creation Week have accomplished only changes WITHIN the original created kinds.

III. The great flood described in Genesis, commonly referred to the the flood of Noah or the Noachian Flood, was an historic event worldwide in its extent and effect.

IV. The account of the special creation of Adam and Eve, as one man and one woman, and their subsequent fall into sin is the basis for our belief in the necessity of a Savior for all mankind. Therefore, salvation can come only through accepting Jesus Christ as Savior.

THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES TODAY

During this dispensation of the grace of God (Eph 3:2), the Gospel that saves today is found in 1 Corinthians 15, "Moreoever, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins accordinvg to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the thrid day according to the scriptures:"

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible, specifically the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, is the revealed Word of God written by men divinely inspired, and that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us; and is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the only sufficient, certain, and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.

THE FLOOD

The Genesis flood was a historical, global event sent by God because the wickedness of man was great in the earth; every imagination of the thoughts of man hear was only evil continually; the earth was filled with violence; and the earth was corrupt and all flesh had corrupted his way on the earth.

SALVATION

Salvation for all was made necessary by the fall of Adam and Eve, comes only through the redemptive work of Christ, NOT by any works of man. Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. It is offered without Israel, without covenants, and without the law.
